Product Info: Martell Cordon Bleu was created in 1912 by Edouard Martell, the great-grandson of the founder. Named after the blue ribbon which is an international emblem of excellence, it was destined to be one of a kind: a new quality of cognac to delight even the most demanding connoisseurs. Its distinctive taste, characterised by a predominance of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies, and its timeless bottle design have made it a classic – an icon in the world of cognac and beyond. Remarkable for its richness, elegance and finesse, Martell Cordon Bleu is a masterful blend of more than 100 eaux-de-vie. Its lusciously full, floral aromas are the result of rare eaux-de-vie from the small Borderies cru in the Cognac region of France. Emblematic of the Martell style, Martell Cordon Bleu is not only an authentic expression of the Borderies, but also a symbol of Maison Martell’s savoir-faire and attachment to its terroir. As a unique cognac in the XO category, Martell Cordon Bleu is endowed with beautiful complexity and rich aromas, making it a legendary cognac. Its high proportion of Borderies marks this blend, expanding on its caramelised character with the smoothness of sweet spices, gingerbread and roasted cocoa beans. Tasting Notes: Color: Deep, golden copper. Nose: Vibrant, rich and complex, with orchard fruit – candied plum and apple – harmonising with roasted notes of mocha coffee, toasted almonds and vetiver. Taste: An exceptionally rounded, mellow sensation further enhanced by Borderies eaux-de-vie, which lend elegance and complexity. An impressively long finish characterised by notes of fruit and spices. Medals & Awards: International Wine and Spirit Competition 2018 - Gold Outstanding Medal. Brand/Product History: Martell, the oldest of the great Cognac houses, was founded by Jean Martell in 1715 at the height of French Art de Vivre, when gastronomy, taste and craftsmanship were celebrated and enjoyed with style. These became the three pillars of the House of Martell and remain intrinsic to the Martell vision today. Since 1715, Martell has produced, exported and marketed cognacs which are recognized worldwide for their outstanding quality and finesse, obtained through double distillation of exclusively clear wines and aging in fine-grained oak barrels.
